Ballet

Through barre work the classes work on the basic movements of ballet, the correct position of the body, turn out, strength and flexibility. Also rhythm, musicality and expressional skills are in focus.

Teen classes (from ages 12 and up) are joint with adult classes on level beginners 1. Intermediates 1 class 25665 and intermediates 3 class 25671 are also joint with adults. Beginner classes for ages 9–12 and 10–13 can be found under youth classes here.

In repertoire classes, both traditional ballet repertoire and new ballet choreography are practiced. Repertoire students perform in shows more than once a school year. The class requires participation in at least two weekly ballet classes in addition to the repertoire class. The teacher ensures the level of suitability of the new students to the group during the first repertoire lessons of the season.

The pirouette technique class develops the technical areas that support the development of turning technique in particular. The first part of a lesson consists of a warm-up and body-care exercises that support the development of body strength, mobility and awareness, from the point of view of the development of rotation technique. At the end of each class, turning exercises are done using pirouette spoons, and various ballet pirouettes are practiced. The lesson is intended as an additional lesson alongside weekly ballet lessons.
